I think I'm breaking down again

This is one of my favourite songs off of Florence and The Machine's new album 'Ceremonials'. Ah it's just so beautiful and so is she! I can't wait until 8th March 2012 when I get to see this live!

it's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Been looking for a cheap Christmas/Party dress for a while now and spotted this one online and have been looking in H&M stores for it for ages now and finally found it in Epsom yesterday, woop!

It looks really cute on because it just nips you in at the waist and is just the right length, I find a lot of dresses are too short. It's also got velvet on, and I love a bit of velvet in the winter! It's part of H&M's Conscious collection, so get it whilst stocks last.

Boux Avenue

Yesterday I grabbed the opportunity to go to a press preview and opening of the brand new Boux Avenue store in Guildford, Surrey. Theo Paphitis was there to open the 8th store and invited bloggers and press to have a look around. The concept of the store is for it to look like your own boudoir, with things in drawers, some products hanging and tables of perfume bottles and cosmetics. I met Theo and he said that this was his perfect store because it is a very good size. The products are quite reasonably priced and fit in with the industry and other high end lingerie stores.

This is the window with a big pink ribbon across it and there was a pink carpet outside aswell.

This was a circular display in the middle of the store with slippers, clutch bags and other cute little trinkets on.

This is some of their Christmas range, cute reindeer design.

Sexy red matching sets.

They do a wide range of pyjamas and these are floral printed.

First shot of Theo, he was very busy.

This is the drawer design that I liked. It stops there being too many products on display and it getting over cluttered.

 Till point.

I want these Giraffe pyjamas!

Cosmetics and home products.

Me and the lovely Theo Paphitis!

tweet, follow, repeat

It seems lately that me and my peers have been having lots of conversations about Twitter and the importance of it. Even as I write this blog entry I am on Twitter and have checked it twice already. I can safely say that I am addicted. I can not go one day without checking my Timeline, adding a new tweet, following someone new or checking my followers. I know people say Facebook is addictive but Twitter is on a whole new level for me.

I follow 296 people and have 69 followers (@lornamarie)  therefore every 5 seconds ish my Timeline updates and I have new tweets to read. I think on one side it is really good to find out the latest events and news; for example by James Murdoch trending in the UK I have just found out that he has resigned but on the other hand #cheesefilms is also trending (add the word cheese into a film), 500 days of cheese? haha. But you see where I'm going with this; I follow the people I do because I'm interested in what they have to say and enjoy checking it to see where they are and what they are doing.

Tweet me if you agree ;)

GET SOCIAL

On Monday me and two of my uni friends got up early to attend the Handpicked Media Gets Social event. It was at the Royal Institute of British Architects and as soon as we walked in we realised the scale of the event. About one hundred bloggers attended and enjoyed the free goody bags and freebies from different companies at the event. There were many speakers from the more technical to faces from the fashion industry and bloggers.

This is the main hall where I met other bloggers and discussed how important blogs are and you can see the live twitter feed. #HPMsocial was trending on twitter in the UK after us only being there for 15 minutes, shows how useful social media is!

This is where the speakers divulged their wisdom and you can see Shaa Wasmund in this photo.

I learnt lots of new tips about how to promote my blog and gained inspiration and motivation to carry on blogging! I had a very good day and would recommend it to anybody that is interested in blogging and social media.
