my feelings swim to the surface

This week has been good. I drove to London on Wednesday (via Epsom to see Laura) to stay at my sister's flat for a few days. Wednesday night we went to see The Inbetweeners movie and ate Nando's. Standard. The film was really funny and I recommend it highly if you loved the television series then you'll love the film just as much.
For what to do on Thursday and Friday I had made plans. On Thursday I decided shopping was a definite must and because I hadn't yet visited the new Lucy In Disguise store or Forever 21 so I made them the top of my list. The vintage store Lucy In Disguise now resides at 48 Lexington Street, W1F OLR, pretty close to Carnaby Street. From the outside the shop looks dazzling because it's covered with gold discs, but to be honest the inside is quite lacklustre, especially compared with the first shop that they opened. Never the less the clothes were all sooo pretty; although too expensive for me!

A dress from Lucy In Disguise's own collection.

So after a quick look in Topshop (ofc!) I walked to Forever 21, it's on Oxford Street but is pretty much opposite Bond Street Station so a bit of a walk. It was definitely worth it though! The store is huge, spread over three levels with a wide variety of clothes. I'd say it's sort of laid out like a more glam Urban Outfitters and the clothes are like Topshop but with H&M prices :D Excuse the overused saying but I was like a kid in a candy store; there were soooo many clothes that I wanted. I bought a top, a dress and a necklace (:

The Store

This is the dress I bought.

I tried this on but it made me look like 6 months pregnant, haha.

I then made the obvious trip to Primark and bought a brilliant bag and some pumpsss...

I love this bag but because it's like a rigid box bag it's not all that practical.

Yesterday I went to Somerset house to have a look at Mike Smith's Pictures of Musicians. They are sketches of musicians recording or playing live.

The Vaccines

Went to Romford today, I wore this...

This is the top I bought from Forever 21.

Off to Silverstone tomorrow for Renault World Series, my brother got free tickets and yet again I have to get up at like 6am O.o

Here's a picture of Win butler to brighten your day ;)

times will change

So it looks like this today outside...

pretty miserable.
Therefore I've decided to wear this because I'm not actually going out today :)

Shirt, Miss Selfridge. Skirt, Primark. Belt, my mum's. Necklace, made by me.

I went to see the British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton on Sunday. It was pretty good, the weather was good and the races were exciting. It was long though, because it was in Norfolk I had to get up at 6am o.O and didn't get back until 8pm. Nobody won that I wanted to though :( Here are a few of my pretty bad photos...

Top Gear made an ice cream van with a Jaguar engine and raced it against the car above. It was well good, still had the ice cream tune playing all the way round and was actually really fast.

I have finally finished reading In Cold Blood by Truman Capote and am answering the questions for Uni today, I love that this is the only thing uni have told us to do and I've left it this late to complete it. I feel like I should have been doing more work!

If you're not busy, watch this. It's one of three videos made by 3 guys that travelled around 11 countries in 44 days. They filmed everything off of two cameras and edited it down to one minute films. This is called move, there is also learn and eat.

Panic on the streets of London, Panic on the streets of Birmingham

Okay so I don't live in London but I live pretty near and know a lot of people that do, including my sister. I can safely say that I am astounded at all the violence that has been going on over the last few days. It's sickening to think that something like this can just happen and that people are getting away with it. I know that the police were stretched and were doing their best but it seemed like they needed a lot more help. It's really hard to understand what makes people do this, the young people that are rioting, looting and vandalising are only a few years younger than me. It makes me angry that young people always get a bad rap when something like this usually happens, like with the tuition fee protests, except this time it actually is young people acting like complete idiots and fucking everything up. With 16,000 police on the streets tonight lets hope it doesn't get any worse and that they can keep things under control.

Okay on a happier note here is a funny picture of a llama...

you are the only exception

My holiday to Turkey was really good :) I went to markets in Hisaronu and Fetihye (sp?) and had a mud bath and saw a turtle! The mud bath was really gross and I don't look ten years younger, so bit of a let down tbh, haha. Also went to a beach called the blue lagoon in Oludeniz which was amazing. I'm pretty tanned and one day it was 38 degrees, crazzzyyy. Flight was delayed on the the way back but at least it's really sunny in Essex :)

Me and Wend in our swimming pool (:
