remember, remember

Uni work, Halloween and a trip home for fireworks.

Uni Work

For part of my 'fashion media' unit I had to do a shopping page. Mine was about the trend of red clothes and set out for Grazia magazine. Below is the text and then the image of my final page :)

Red's not dead...

This is one of the hottest colours of the coldest season, inject some sex-siren red into your wardrobe and update your look.

Do you remember last year's winter colours? A lot of black, white and grey. However fashion's obsession with pillar box, ruby, scarlet and crimson red holds up again this year and is bigger, brighter and bolder than ever before. There are plenty of styles flying off the shelves to prove it. Stand out in a statement red coat from Jaeger that will cocoon you in colour or if that's not your style then slightly shine in a ruffle shouldered vest from Oasis.
Also perfect for day-wear, work a pair of straight legged trousers to give a simple outfit a boost, or be in the knitwear gang and opt for a long cowl necked jumper to keep you snug. Shoe Gods Kurt Geiger have stock-rooms full of cherry red heels; why not try some heeled loafers that go with everything from dresses to flares and are balancing you out with the new chunky, stacked heel. As long as you're not on the red carpet a flaming red dress is perfect for evening-wear.
The fashion designers that bought this trend onto the autumn/winter 2010 catwalks are Emilio Pucci, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Marc Jacobs. Emilio Pucci and Alexander McQueen featured head-to-toe red gowns and outfits, where as Vivienne Westwood and Marc Jacobs used it to accent other colours. Pucci brought sexy back with a dress slit right the way up the front which was very provocative. However McQueen took this colour back to its regal roots by using rich silk and lashings of gold. It really is a very versatile colour. In Vivienne Westwood's Red Label collection she used red tights to make the darker colours pop, this is a very cheap way for anybody to work the look this season. Similarly Marc Jacobs knitwear included red stripes, there are lots of great ways to incorporate this colour into your outfit.
We suggest to wear red with black to really accentuate the colour but if you want to be really on trend then match with navy, for instant va-va-voom.

At the moment I am writing a catwalk report so when I'm finished I'll post it.

Halloween
Okay so it may feel like a while ago now but just thought I'd mention it as fun times were had! Pumpkins were carved in the Horsley Close household, house parties were attended and drunken times were had.
Pumpkins...
Kat's, Laura's, mine.

My sister carving her cat pumpkin.

Now the photos below consist of me and my housemates out for halloween...
