No, not the atrocious programme on ITV2. I literally have no comments about that representation of Essex. This weekend I took a trip home :)  Was lovely to see family and friends again.

I met my friend for coffee, traipsed round town with the family and then had drinks with my best mate. Sunday was spent in tunbridge wells and a drive back to Epsom. All in all a very good weekend!

Okay so I've been pretty busy, and not so busy. On Friday 8th after a taxing, ha!, day at Uni me and house-mate Laura watched "The History Boys"("History. It's just one fucking thing after another"), and "The Breakfast Club"("We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all"); one set in the 80's and one made in the 80's ha.



Saturday 9th, we set off from Epsom and headed to Knightsbridge. Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Christian Dior awaited us. It's not really inspiring to go to these places when you can't really afford to buy anything :( but I still love looking at everything I aspire to have. Obviously when I'm an editor :P. We also went to Tate Modern (after literally the longest walk, we got lost), in the 'Turbine Hall' was "The Unilever Series: Al Weiwei - Sunflower Seeds". Which is basically thousands of little stones hand painted to look like sunflower seeds, it was amazingggggg!



Today to take photos of people, again! I took a trip to Kingston. Bought these shoessss :)



Off to Portobello Market on Friday so I will report back on my findings, Oh but back to the homeland (Essex) this weekend so may not update until Monday.

Anish Kapoor

On Sat 2nd I visited the Anish Kapoor artwork named Sky Mirror in Kensington Gardens, London. There were 4 different pieces to it, all mirrored. The largest one was really cool, it made you upside down on one side and then the right way up on the other side, and with the park all green it made the surroundings look amazing.

Why was it unsuccessful? Basically we trundled around London for nearly 7 hours and we all took about one or two photos, we just couldn't see anyone that remotely fitted the brief. Also at like 3pm it started bucketing down with rain, which didn't help. Did see Mathew Horne around chinatown though, ha. :)

I know we've known about this for a while now but I just realised I haven't blogged about it... OFC I'm talking about the collaboration of Lanvin and H&M. I ♥ Alber Elbaz ;

“H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin.

The collectiion will be revealed on 2nd November and hit stores on 23rd, who's up for camping out?

on trend

What is defined as 'cool'? who's 'on trend'? and who's just pretentious? I'm starting to think that all these things just blend into each other at the moment. So we received all the briefs for the next few weeks at uni and one of them is to photograph a variety of people who are wearing future trends. Yes FUTURE trends. Nobody that's trying to hard but no-one that's too casual either. Don't take photos of people that catch your eye because they look weird but nobody 'generic' either. Seriously. I'm confused. How do you generalise 'style', 'trends' and 'coolness' everybody has a different perception.

This is the age old question of what's considered stylish? Personally I think people should stop trying so hard. But then again it's not cool to say you're effortlessly cool. Apparently.

London is known for having lots of different people wearing every style you've ever seen, mostly just attention-seeking, but as people are so used to this, they won't get stared at. Street style is something you can't quantify, that's why this project has to be one of the hardest yet.

In the hectic times of London fashion week the after parties become the thing to look forward to. The exclusive Brompton Club, SW7, was host to Nicole Farhi's glamorous soiree. As you walk in you are greeted by a smartly dressed man with a clipboard, you know you're not getting in unless you're name is on the list. You are then greeted by a vast dark spiral staircase that leads into the unknown, the bass line of the music gets louder as you descend. Entering the cavernous crepuscular room, it's dripping wall to wall with models and beautiful slender women. In trend with most opulent designer parties somebody needs to wear the designer in question. A tall woman with distinctive features and radiant hair wore an inky glittering dress with a black sheer long sleeved layer over the top from Farhi's Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. Spying the “fashionistas” from a snakeskin sofa was the characteristic Actor Bill Nighy, with the champagne flowing it was a magical night.
