Arcade Fire's new song Abraham's Daughter for the soundtrack of 'The Hunger Games' has been released today, take a listen!

Also my mum handed me down this bracelet for my birthday and I've finally got round to adding charms to it:

My sister bought me the 21 charm, I found the ballerina one and I purchased the cat from ebay ^_^

200th POST

YAY this is my 200th post on my blog since I started it up again with posts of my University work. So for anybody who cares this is going to be a double post, including my first vlog and a little bit about some Bourjois make up I received.

Sorry about the poor quality it's recorded on my crappy webcam.

So I received the Bourjois eyeshadows in the post today after talking to their representative at Handpicked Media Gets Social. I have actually never used any Bourjois products before, mainly because they are quite expensive but other than that I don't really know why I haven't! I got Intense numbers 02,05 and 08; gold, green and brown. I'm wearing the brown in the video above, although you can't really see it.

The colours are highly pigmented and because I have brown eyes I chose colours that would bring them out. I lined my eyes with black eyeliner then used a fine brush to add a line of brown. These little pots are so cute as well because they have a handy little mirror in them.

Midweek blues

Seeing as it's Wednesday (and you all know I hate Wednesdays right?!) I thought I'd add a want list of things (if I had money) I would buy this week! Take a look...

Topshop Metallic Skirt by Boutique £70.00
How amazing is this? I have a skirt like this from Topshop that I bought a couple of years ago in black and I love it, want this gold one!

Topshop Glitter Bow Cross Body Bag £22.00
This is so cute, but it is quite small so it would be good on a night out.

I love Body Shop body butters and would own every scent if I could, this is a lovely wintery buy for dry skin.

Models Own Nail Polish - Scarlet Sparkle £5.00
Glittery nail varnish and Christmas go together so well and especially glittery red!

Sass and Belle Ditsy Owl Cushion £14.95
I really want this! Think this may be on my birthday list (:

Matte Finish

This week my nails are matte black...

I used Barry M's no. 47 Black and Rimmel Pro Matte Finish Topcoat. This is the first time I have used the Matte finish and I really like it. I used two coats of my black nail varnish, waited for that to dry and then just applied one layer of the matte finish. I really like the effect and I think it would look really good on all solid colours.

I purchased mine from ASOS £4.50

My body is your body

Received my free sample of Burberry's Body perfume today. If you are looking for a perfume to buy for somebody for Christmas Burberry are always a safe brand to choose and this year is no different. Body is a floral fragrance and has notes of rose and iris. It's also quite 'musky' with base notes of sandalwood, musk, amber and vanilla. It's good for all ages and can be found in many high street stores.

My free sample, with a beautiful image of Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley.

It is quite pricey but it is a luxury brand. 35ml, £45.00, Boots

I think I'm breaking down again

This is one of my favourite songs off of Florence and The Machine's new album 'Ceremonials'. Ah it's just so beautiful and so is she! I can't wait until 8th March 2012 when I get to see this live!

it's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Been looking for a cheap Christmas/Party dress for a while now and spotted this one online and have been looking in H&M stores for it for ages now and finally found it in Epsom yesterday, woop!

It looks really cute on because it just nips you in at the waist and is just the right length, I find a lot of dresses are too short. It's also got velvet on, and I love a bit of velvet in the winter! It's part of H&M's Conscious collection, so get it whilst stocks last.

Boux Avenue

Yesterday I grabbed the opportunity to go to a press preview and opening of the brand new Boux Avenue store in Guildford, Surrey. Theo Paphitis was there to open the 8th store and invited bloggers and press to have a look around. The concept of the store is for it to look like your own boudoir, with things in drawers, some products hanging and tables of perfume bottles and cosmetics. I met Theo and he said that this was his perfect store because it is a very good size. The products are quite reasonably priced and fit in with the industry and other high end lingerie stores.

This is the window with a big pink ribbon across it and there was a pink carpet outside aswell.

This was a circular display in the middle of the store with slippers, clutch bags and other cute little trinkets on.

This is some of their Christmas range, cute reindeer design.

Sexy red matching sets.

They do a wide range of pyjamas and these are floral printed.

First shot of Theo, he was very busy.

This is the drawer design that I liked. It stops there being too many products on display and it getting over cluttered.

 Till point.

I want these Giraffe pyjamas!

Cosmetics and home products.

Me and the lovely Theo Paphitis!

tweet, follow, repeat

It seems lately that me and my peers have been having lots of conversations about Twitter and the importance of it. Even as I write this blog entry I am on Twitter and have checked it twice already. I can safely say that I am addicted. I can not go one day without checking my Timeline, adding a new tweet, following someone new or checking my followers. I know people say Facebook is addictive but Twitter is on a whole new level for me.

I follow 296 people and have 69 followers (@lornamarie)  therefore every 5 seconds ish my Timeline updates and I have new tweets to read. I think on one side it is really good to find out the latest events and news; for example by James Murdoch trending in the UK I have just found out that he has resigned but on the other hand #cheesefilms is also trending (add the word cheese into a film), 500 days of cheese? haha. But you see where I'm going with this; I follow the people I do because I'm interested in what they have to say and enjoy checking it to see where they are and what they are doing.

Tweet me if you agree ;)

GET SOCIAL

On Monday me and two of my uni friends got up early to attend the Handpicked Media Gets Social event. It was at the Royal Institute of British Architects and as soon as we walked in we realised the scale of the event. About one hundred bloggers attended and enjoyed the free goody bags and freebies from different companies at the event. There were many speakers from the more technical to faces from the fashion industry and bloggers.

This is the main hall where I met other bloggers and discussed how important blogs are and you can see the live twitter feed. #HPMsocial was trending on twitter in the UK after us only being there for 15 minutes, shows how useful social media is!

This is where the speakers divulged their wisdom and you can see Shaa Wasmund in this photo.

I learnt lots of new tips about how to promote my blog and gained inspiration and motivation to carry on blogging! I had a very good day and would recommend it to anybody that is interested in blogging and social media.
